After finishing the first implementation of Russound support, I figured it is easier to demonstrate this with a little video then writing a long story
Currently the Russound commands are configured inside a property file  so it is easy to extend.
We support 6 zones and 6 sources in the moment. Each zone can be turned on/off, the source selected and the volume changed.
When the server push is working, I will try and implement feedback so you can see which zones are active and which sources are selected.
Also, I want to use a slider to control the volume. So look out for a new version

Enjoy the video!

Looking forward to more demos to come. I need to do several myself, trying to find the time slots to do them.

    Very Cool Marcus!
I have been attempting to do the same thing with my Russound system. I have so far only been able to read the RNET IO stream off the serial port. I would love more details or perhaps to collaborate on development.
    Keep it up!

I did not look into this since the first demo. But know I have a new home and wired it to use the Russound in every room. I want to use two MusicPal internet radios as players and control everything with OpenRemote. So the protocol is going to be extended and also I will include status support (2way) since this is available in OpenRemote 2.0.

Expect more to come over the next 2-3 month.
