I involve with Openremote primarily for integrating AV equipment in my own house, but also since it is a fashinating and relatively well-maintained project with some momentum.

Originally I wanted to integrate my AV equipment using a Russound CAV 6.6 Multi-room solution. This works well as an amplifier matrix and source selector. I am less thrilled with it's capabilties in operating various equipment over IR and this is where Openremote comes in. I have had some initial success in managing my dreambox over HTTP and this is what I want to continue. I am a java developer from profession and my main interest in OpenRemote is increasing quality and managing source equipment using reliable non-IR protocols. I also care about proper and complete documentation.
